Agasthyakoodam _ Kerala

Agasthyakoodam, the second highest peak in Kerala, is an ornithologist’s paradise and home to many exotic birds.  Rested on the lap of Western Ghats, Agasthyakoodam is also known for its more than 2000 species of flora and fauna including lichens, orchids, mosses and ferns. Many rare medicinal herbs have been discovered here and the clear air on the mountaintop is reputed to have a medicinal effect. Unfortunately trekking is restricted and public climbsare recommended only during the months of January to April
